摘要: The purpose of this study is to develop and extend our understanding dementia care-giving by introducing a typology informal across four different diseases. Care-giving factors were examined with respect specific presentation in mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease, Lewy bodies Parkinson's disease-associated dementia. Informal literature the diseases was systematically searched identify disease symptoms resultant strains outcomes. Key concepts extracted grouped thematically. first classification, ‘role-shift’, reflects where deterioration results changing roles, uncertainty relational deprivation among married partners. second ‘consumed care-giving’, refers those caring for persons dementia-motor decline that greatly increases worry isolation. Finally, ‘service use’ formal support needed help care-givers cope daily responsibilities behaviour changes. In each case, uniquely impacts care-giver strains. A major conclusion same all under umbrella term ‘dementia’ unwarranted; development targeted required.
