摘要: This article summarizes the examination technique, typical findings, interpretation and limitations of ultrasound diagnosis in patients with giant cell arteritis. Colour-coded sonography temporal artery has gained increasing attention. If experienced examiners are available, arteritis a clinical constellation can be made based solely on sonographic particular by hypoechogenic halo. The hitherto probably under-diagnosed large vessel variant shows characteristic findings simple quick proximal arm arteries. High resolution MRI been shown to promising technique for non-invasive imaging Mural inflammatory changes superficial arteries depicted cranial involvement pattern readily assessed combination MR angiography extracranial determined within same investigation. Aortitis is feared complication but detected stenoses aortic branch vessels also revealed. In hands an operator ultrasonography regarded as modality first choice whereas more expensive may not widely available. However, its acquisition standardized observer-independent. Reading images routine task vascular radiologist larger areas vasculature simultaneously assessed.
