摘要: The potential for developing and spreading antimicrobial resistance in pathogens is the most important health risk associated with widespread use of antimicrobials human medication livestock industry. Residual enter environment through discharge contaminated effluent or land application manure. Many studies have investigated degradation water; however, soils sediments are also an environmental matrix as they can act reservoirs recalcitrant antimicrobials. This research examines kinetics two processes, biodegradation sorption. paper makes three main contributions. Firstly, we reviewed literature to discuss fate adverse impacts residual environment. Secondly, examine processes governing transport highlight trends contributing factors. Lastly, developed a multi-level experimental design study sorption five priority (lincomycin, monensin, sulfamethazine, tetracycline, triclosan) sediments. results this will be used model adsorption target Soil sediment samples been collected from pristine sites Southern Ontario watershed.
