Insertion reactions of diazocyclopentadienes with halo—transition metal complexes☆

摘要: Abstract The reactivity of diazocyclopentadiene and diazotetraphenylcyclopentadiene, known precursors interesting carbenes, towards some rhodium, iridium manganese complexes has been investigated. It was found that reactions halo-bridged-dirhodium species pentacarbonyl halides with diazocyclopentadienes at room temperature yielded halo-substituted cyclopentadienyl complexes. This reaction can be considered an insertion the diazo into metal halogen bond accompanied by loss dinitrogen. intermediacy free carbenes is unlikely.
