Synthesis and crystal structure of a group of phenoxo-bridged heterodinuclear [NiIIHgII] Schiff base complexes

摘要: Abstract Four new heterodinuclear complexes of a group the general formula, [NiHg(L)Cl2] where Schiff base anion, L = 2,2′-[propane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilomethylylidene)] diphenolate (L1), (1); 2,2′-[propane-1,2-diylbis(nitriloeth-1-yl-1-ylidene)] (L2), (2); 2,2′-[propane-1,2-diylbis(nitriloprop-1-yl-1-ylidene)] (L3), (3) and 2,2′-[propane-1,3-diylbis(nitrilomethylylidene)] (L4), (4) have been prepared. The syntheses achieved by reacting equimolar amounts nickel perchlorate, mercuric chloride respective tetradentate ligand (H2L) in methanol medium. characterized microanalytical, spectroscopic, single crystal X-ray diffraction other physicochemical studies. Structural studies on 1–4 reveal presence [NiIIHgII] unit which central Ni(II) Hg(II) ions are connected to each two phenolate oxygen bridges. In complexes, ion adopts distorted square planar (NiO2N2) geometry while assumes tetrahedral arrangement (HgO2Cl2). dinuclear units self-assembled through weak intermolecular π… interactions build up supramolecular network their solid state.
