摘要: Abstract Moving towards integrated governance of water and energy requires balancing tradeoffs taking advantage synergies through specific technology choice. However, the water-energy conservation relationships individual measures in industries other than sectors have not been investigated detail. This study develops a hybrid model to estimate associated impacts measures, using China’s iron steel industry as case study. The results reveal that exist production process adjustment, which is conventionally promoted as a key energy-saving measure industry. It found replacing Blast Oxygen Furnace (BOF) with Electric Arc (EAF) 2007 could save 131–156 kg coal equivalent (kgce) (13.2–15.7%) embodied per ton crude (tcs) at expenses an additional 2.5–3.9 m 3 /tcs (10.6–16.4%) footprint. Nineteen efficiency technologies are studied this research, most them identified having water-saving except for Low Temperature Rolling Technology. Taking these into consideration can update priority ranks choices inform policy decisions. Although focuses on sector, methods analysis be extended countries, sectors, environmental impacts.
