摘要: Background and aims: The new high sensitivity cardiac Troponin T (cTnThs) assay has recently been introduced in our clinic ensures higher than the fourth-generation troponin (cTnT) from same manufacturer (Roche Diagnostics). We determined diagnostic performance of cTnThs compared with cTnT geriatric patients, especially those non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). Methods: retrospectively analysed 253 patients (age 82±8 years; 82 men, 172 women) diagnoses suspected NSTEMI admitted to Department Geriatric Medicine. Patients were divided into one group 113 using cTnThs, another 140 for diagnosis. Each included at months but different years, either or assays. was diagnosed according current guidelines. Results: Baseline characteristics similar both groups. proportions elevated (cTn) levels significantly increased 35% 76% (p<0.001), although no coronary cause cTn shown about two-thirds these patients. In NSTEMI, 58% vs 42% within 4 hours onset symptoms, whereas more later (p=0.018). Conclusions: prevalence doubled use cTnThs. However, found earlier by
