摘要: Stomata, the small pores on surfaces of leaves and stalks, regulate flow gases in out thus plants as a whole. They adapt to local global changes all timescales from minutes millennia. Recent data diverse fields are establishing their central importance plant physiology, evolution ecology. Stomatal morphology, distribution behaviour respond spectrum signals, intracellular signalling climatic change. Such concerted adaptation results web control systems, reminiscent 'scale-free' network, whose untangling requires integrated approaches beyond those currently used.
