Local Static and Dynamic Atomic Displacements in Disordered Niobium Carbide

摘要: A neutron diffraction study is made of disordered niobium carbide NbCy (1.00 ≧ y 0.75) in the region its homogeneity. The dependences mean-square static and dynamic displacements atoms on composition are determined. It suggested that localized metal—carbon bonds predominate over delocalized metallic interactions.
