摘要: Introduction In Poland we lack a multidisciplinary and coordinated system of care for people with dementia, which would take the form an evidence-based pathway number reports on holistic approach to caring living this diagnosis is very low. Aim study The aim was investigate whether Meeting Centres Support Programme (MCSP) effective in meeting needs older dementia. Participants methods This done by comparing experiences dementia themselves that their carers at baseline follow-up, after 6 months participation MCSP or Usual Care (UC). Results included 47 diagnosed mild-to-moderate (n=24, group; n=23, UC control group) 42 informal (n=22, n=20, group), all Wroclaw involved European JPND-MEETINGDEM project. To assess cognitive functioning severity Mini-Mental State Examination Global Deterioration Scale were used. assessed using Camberwell Assessment Need Elderly. most frequently reported unmet both persons activities daily living, psychological distress, need company. Compared group reduced considerably providing convincing evidence reducing over 6-month period. Conclusion may be regarded as good example comprehensive post-diagnostic support patients well carers.
