摘要: Abstract Biodegradation studies of Gum ghatti (Gg) and acrylamide-co-acrylic acid based flocculants [Gg-cl-poly(AAm-co-AA)] have been reported using the soil composting method. Gg-cl-poly(AAm-co-AA) was found to degrade 89.76% within 60 days. The progress biodegradation at each stage monitored through FT-IR SEM. Polymer synthesized under pressure potassium persulphate-ascorbic as a redox initiator N,N′-methylene-bis-acrylamide crosslinker. Synthesized polymer show pH, temperature ionic strength cations dependent swelling behavior. utilized for selective absorption saline from different petroleum fraction-saline emulsions. flocculation efficiency studied function dose, pH solution. showed maximum with 20 mol L −1 dose in acidic medium 50 °C.
