摘要: An unusual feature of the magmatic Fe-Ti oxide deposits associated with layered intrusions in Permian Emeishan large igneous province (LIP) SW China is association mineralization olivine that significantly more Mg-rich than those occur elsewhere. A working hypothesis for production significant assimilation carbonate occurred during formation LIP. This study provides several lines supporting evidence from a coeval picritic dyke footwall Panzhihua intrusion at Zhujiabaobao. Country rocks to Zhujiabaobao are brucite marbles. Olivine phenocrysts have Fo contents varying 79 91 mol %. The most (Fo89-91) present margins and contain undissolved calcite. marginal sample show reversed zoning content similar 20% lower Ni picrites emplaced nearby area. Olivine-hosted inclusions this exclusively Cr-magnetite (calculated atomic Fe3+/Cr3+ > 1) instead chromite or Cr-spinel (Nd) values (1 center dot 4-2) but contrasting Sr isotope compositions. (Fo89-90) has highest initial Sr-87/Sr-86 ratio (0 7054), whereas samples Fe-rich (Fo78-83) ratios 7046-0 7049). results mixing calculations indicate up 25 wt % marble by basaltic magma composition average high-Ti basalts can readily explain observed mineralogical isotopic variations within dyke. an efficient way produce magnetite anomalously rich magnesium.
