摘要: Silent-site nucleotide diversity data (π(silent)) can provide insights into the forces driving genome evolution. Here we present π(silent) statistics for mitochondrial and nuclear DNAs of Polytomella parva, a nonphotosynthetic green alga with highly reduced, linear fragmented genome. We show that this species harbors very little genetic diversity, exception telomeres, which have an excess polymorphic sites. These are compared previously published values from genomes model Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Volvox carteri, close relatives P. used to understand modes tempos evolution within algae.
