摘要: Lead doped barium titanate was synthesized hydrothermally at 363 K for 140 h. A molar formula of Ba(1−x)Pb x TiO3 used, where ranged between 0.025 and 0.75. The crystal structure, phase purity, particle morphology investigated by x-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy electron microscopy. Under the synthesis conditions lead (Pb2+) shown to incorporate into perovskite structure when dopant kept below 20%. Above 20% Pb, other phases appeared 75% Pb no reaction took place. Unexpectedly, containing from 2.5% 10% be orthorhombic symmetry. This concluded total pattern fitting diffraction profiles splitting 222 reflection. factors controlling tendency these materials adopt symmetry as opposed more commonly observed tetragonal or cubic symmetries are briefly discussed.
