摘要: The generation of new neurons in the cerebral cortex requires that progenitor cells leave cell cycle and activate specific programs differentiation migration. Genetic studies have identified some molecules controlling these cellular events, but how different aspects neurogenesis are integrated into a coherent developmental program remains unclear. One possible mechanism implicates multifunctional proteins regulate, both exit differentiation.(1) A prime example is cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p27(Kip1), which has recently been shown to function beyond regulation promote neuronal migration newborn cortical neurons, through distinct separable mechanisms. p27(Kip1) therefore part machinery couples multiple events cortex.
