摘要: Lip-read speech suppresses and speeds up the auditory N1 P2 peaks, but these effects are not always observed or reported. Here, robustness of lip-read-induced N1/P2 suppression facilitation in phonetically congruent audiovisual was assessed by analyzing peak values that were taken from published plots individual data. To determine whether adhering to additive model AV integration (i.e., A+V ≠ AV, AV−V ≠ A) is critical for correct characterization on P2, data compared AV−V. On average, consistently suppressed sped lip-read information, with no indication significantly modulated V subtracted AV. assess possibility variability amplitudes latencies may explain why found, additional correlations between size computed. These analyses showed correlated effects. However, it also became apparent a portion characterized enhancements delays rather than suppressions facilitations, which, data, seemed related particularly small/early A-only peaks large/late AV(−V) peaks.
