摘要: Abstract The aim of this study was to compare the inhalation cancer risk posed by PM-bound As, Cd, Pb, Ni and Cr(VI) concentrations in typical urban environment differentiate between PM size fractions population age-groups. Additionally deposition metrics were used characterize risks highway (H)-, street canyon (SC)- residential (RA) origin. Aerosol samples collected cities Zabrze Katowice (Poland) using Dekati cascade impactors. Regardless location metals primarily associated with particles less than 1 μm. For sites, where distribution bi-modal (SC RA Zabrze) maxima metal mass occurred both accumulation coarse modes, predominantly deposited head airways region. Sites characterized an uni-modal (RA Katowice, H SC found favor pulmonary deposition. overall respiratory tract residential; environments were: 0.51; 0.54 0.61, respectively. Street therefore most hazardous. Depending on specific compartment tract, average amounts varied from 0.05 0.53 its ambient concentration. ILCR values up 10E-03 for adults versus 10E-05 infants. Adults mostly exposed near canyons, while infants children susceptible environments.
