摘要: Abstract The Triassic is bound by two mass extinctions that coincide with vast outpourings of volcanic flood basalts. Mesozoic begins a gradual recovery plant and animal life after the end-Permian extinction. Conodonts ammonoids are main correlation tools for marine deposits. Pangea supercontinent has no known glacial episodes during Triassic, but modulation its monsoonal climate Milankovitch cycles left sedimentary signatures useful high-resolution scaling. Dinosaurs begin to dominate terrestrial ecosystems in latest Triassic. In contrast rapid evolution pronounced environmental changes characterize Early through Carnian, Norian–Rhaetian Late was an unusually long interval stability Earth history.
