摘要: The introduced rhesus monkeys on Cayo Santiago, Puerto Rico, have an annual reproductive cycle with estrous periods limited to the months from July January. most intensive breeding occurs in September and October. periodicity of estrus 34 mature females one social group was studied during 1960 season. Among 28 which gave birth, 20 apparently conceived first period, 6 did not conceive until second time when 2 uncertain. Distinct occurred early part gestation. Thirteen pregnant had at least such postconception period. Higher ranking males were general more active breeders than lower ranked animals, but activity decrease decreasing dominance a regular predictable manner.
