摘要: Lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) killed by mountain beetle (Dendroctonus ponderosae) (BLP) was compared with healthy lodgepole (HLP) for bioconversion to ethanol and high-value co-products. The BLP HLP chips were pretreated using an organosolv process at a variety of severities. It shown that the easier pretreat delignify than chips. resulting substrate had lower residual lignin, degree polymerization cellulose, cellulose crystallinity, smaller fiber size thereby better enzymatic hydrolysability did substrates. However, under same conditions, showed yield recovery HLP, which likely resulted from excessive hydrolysis subsequent decomposition hemicellulose during pretreatment. wood yielded more lignin obtained material. molecular weight narrower distribution lignin. appears LP is receptive pretreatment other slightly carbohydrates.
