摘要: Abstract In order to identify the hydrogeochemical process controlling quality of groundwater, an extensive study was carried out in Imphal and Thoubal district Manipur, India. The objectives studies were delineate spatial temporal variability groundwater understand its suitability for human uses. area samples from 45 location have been collected during pre-monsoon, monsoon post-monsoon seasons analyzed major ions such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+, HCO 3 - , Cl−, SO 4 2 NO PO F−, Fe silica. water both districts good domestic agricultural uses except few samples. These saline localized due inherent lithology area. Three hydrochemical facies (Ca–HCO3 type, mixed Ca–Na–HCO3 Ca–Mg–Cl types Ca–HCO3, Ca–Cl type district) identified. mineral stability diagrams indicated that is equilibrium with kaolinite Ca-montmorillonite whereas Gibbs plot showed chemical composition ground controlled by natural weathering processes irrespective seasons. Among processes, silicate dominant. results supported Wilcox USSL diagrams. reflected overall anthropogenic use.
