摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses biomimetic oxidations by dinuclear and trinuclear copper complexes. Copper is widely employed as metal cofactor in proteins enzymes that perform dioxygen binding, activation, reduction processes. The also provides general overviews describing the catalytic reactions structural features of protein active sites. can be classified into types, according to nuclearity their sites, which mononuclear, binuclear, or polynuclear, but general, function not directly correlated with site. For instance, mononuclear oxidase, monooxygenase, dioxygenase activities. best-known representative members former family are hemocyanin, catechol oxidase tyrosinase, those latter ascorbate laccase, ceruloplasmin. basic properties these necessary reference for any attempt reproduce systems key aspects structure reactivity.
