摘要: The JPL MkIV interferometer, a Fourier transform IR (FTIR) spectrometer designed specifically for atmospheric remote sensing, made measurements of the composition Arctic stratosphere in January, February, and March 1992. These were from NASA DC-8 aircraft as part AASE2 campaign. data reveal that despite 5 to 6 km subsidence inside vortex, which more than doubled vertically integrated column amounts (burdens) HF HNO3 with respect outside considerable losses NO2, HCl, ClNO3 evident by mid-January. Temporary freeze-out was observed only on one occasion, Jan. 19, accompanied substantial reductions HCl ClNO3. During February March, NO2 increased dramatically. also recovered but at much slower rate, so major reservoir inorganic chlorine, times exceeding factor 2.© (1993) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society Optical Engineering.
