摘要: In practice, unfamiliar pigs are frequently mixed prior to loading in order obtain groups of uniform weight and adjust the group size dimensions trailer compartments. Mixing induces aggressive interactions establish a new social rank. Fighting results skin lesions pre-slaughter stress and, turn, reduced meat quality. A study was performed compare effect non-regrouping regrouping at fattening (at 80 kg kept till slaughter), lairage. total 1332 were included over 30 transports from one pig farm slaughterhouse (110 km). Skin determined on 1314 carcasses. Meat quality measured 620 pigs. The non-regrouped had fewer better than regrouped or Pigs had, general, comparable amount as non-mixed group. If mixing is unavoidable, due large within-group variations, can be an alternative reduce slaughter optimise
