摘要: This paper studies a particular single-stage power-factor-correction (PFC) switching regulator employing discontinuous-conduction-mode (DCM) boost-input cell and continuous-current-mode (CCM) forward output cell. Although this PFC can provide reasonably high power factor when its stage is operating in discontinuous mode, substantial reduction line-current harmonics possible by applying suitable frequency-modulation scheme. derives scheme proposes practical implementation using simple translinear analog circuit. A quantitative analysis on the total harmonic distortion (THD) of line current circuit subject to limited range frequency variations presented along with some considerations for design. Experimental data obtained from prototype confirms effectiveness proposed The allows custom integrated implementation, making it viable low-cost solution elimination regulators.
