摘要: Previous animal nutritional studies have shown that the utilization of whey may be improved if diet contains small amounts chitinous material. This improvement was attributed to change in intestinal microflora brought about by supplement. study is an attempt find out whether manipulation can modify bacterial population chicken gut. Two replicate experiments were performed each which contained 11 groups one-day-old broiler chicks. The various isonitrogenous/isocaloric treatments received ethyl-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine glycoside (ethyl-GlcNAc glycoside), chitin, and/or Bifidobacteria inoculum, and whey. After feeding for a minimum 10 days, 3 5 birds per group sacrificed, samples collected, cultured on selective medium, isolated cultures biochemically characterized.
