摘要: Fruit and vegetable waste (FVW) is generated in large quantities during production, processing, consumption. Several conventional methods are used for treating the FVW, such as incineration, landfill, anaerobic digestion, composting. Compared to these methods, vermicomposting has advantages of effective stabilization organic wastes like FVW through joint action earthworms microorganisms decomposition easily decaying constituents higher reuse value its final product fertilizer. However, fresh directly by difficult be conducted because water content C/N ratio FVW. Excess activated sludge (EAS), main by-product sewage treatment process, also an consisting that can treated vermicomposting. Vermicomposting with addition EAS not only reported a feasible option solve problem caused but enhance process. The rich microorganisms, nitrogen, phosphorus promote growth microbial activity, thus improving efficiency utilization present chapter summarizes several proposes more sustainable method EAS.
