摘要: The phagocytic activity of Mytilus galloprovincialis hemocytes is thought to be associated with NADPH-oxidase the plasma membrane, thus producing superoxide anions. Few studies, however, have been devoted nitric oxide release by these haemocytes. We investigated NO generation in M. order understand its role defensive mechanisms organisms. presence NO-synthase-like enzymatic protein homogenates from was revealed conversion radiolabelled L-arginine L-citrulline. observed partial inhibition luminol-dependent chemiluminescence stimulated both NO-synthase inhibitors and dismutase, indicating that peroxynitrite (which results reaction between anions) partially mediated this chemiluminescence. Furthermore, we confirmed production highlighting oxide-synthase-dependence nitrate nitrite hemocytes.
