摘要: Background The liver has a large regenerative capacity. Hepatocytes can replicate and regenerate diseased liver. However, as is the case in severe diseases, this replication may become insufficient or exhausted hepatic progenitor cells (HPCs) be activated an attempt to restore function. Due their bi-potent differentiation capacity, these HPCs have great potential for approaches yet over-activation does pose health risks. Therefore mechanisms leading activation must elucidated prior safe implementation veterinary clinic. Wnt/β-catenin Notch signalling been implicated of mouse models humans. Here we assessed involvement canine HPC activation. Gene-expression profiles were derived from laser microdissected niches lobular dissecting hepatitis (LDH) normal tissue, with focus on signalling. Immunohistochemical immunofluorescent studies combined assess role pathways during LDH.
