摘要: Induced partial saturation is an innovative soil improvement technique intended to mitigate earthquake-induced liquefaction. Historical records indicate that successive earthquakes may occur in high seismic areas. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of the response partially saturated soils sequential ground motions great significance for rational design and execution this method engineering practice. In study, series dynamic centrifuge experiments were conducted investigate impacts on behavior beneath shallow foundations. Two different foundation models with bearing pressure 135 kPa 50 kPa examined. Three simulations, order increasing amplitudes, sequentially applied loosely-packed sand prepared air injection technique. The assessment test results indicated foundations resting loose did suffer excessive settlements each event, producing large embedment foundation. However, much smaller recorded ground, level remained limited case. deformation vector fields also displacement mechanisms observed event.
