摘要: Depression has been widely reported to be more prevalent among females than males. In this study we demonstrate that gender differences in depression occur only individuals born during particular historical periods, and test the utility of a model focusing on changes women's opportunities for academic professional achievement predicting periods significant depression. Based reanalysis data by Klerman et al., find people 40 years age older high cohorts reach adolescence increasing female achievement. Among stable or decreasing women, are not at any age.
