摘要: Significant uncertainty surrounds the future development of electricity systems, primarily in terms size, location and type new renewable generation to be connected. In this paper we assess potential for flexible network technologies, such as phase-shifting transformers, non-network solutions, energy storage demand-side management, constitute valuable interim measures within a long-term planning strategy. The benefit assets lies not only transmission services provided but also way they can facilitate de-risk subsequent decisions by deferring commitment capital-intensive projects until more information on becomes available. A novel stochastic formulation expansion is presented that includes consideration investment these solutions. proposed framework demonstrated with case study IEEE-RTS where technologies are shown options when facing uncertainties development.
