摘要: Abstract The sea-level rise phenomenon affects several socio-economic and ecological aspects worldwide, particularly in terms of coastal erosion saltwater intrusion. While the Mediterranean region is showing an increase vulnerability to rise, this study, we implement Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI), between 2005 2013, on Southern Lebanese coast. selection study area related its commonly known vulnerable sandy beaches. CVI derived from six physical geological variables that are estimated using Geographical Information System Remote Sensing techniques. Results show eastern coast has a moderate (66% total lengths) high (30% rise. As predicted, beaches our represent most regions. On other hand, absence Pearson correlation amount sea level surface temperature, shown. It probably direct human interference eclipsed climate change as main driving force period (i.e. 2005–2013). In context, propose intervention strategy focuses offering ’soft’ technics performed at dune systems. Stakeholders encouraged approach combat these areas. And by applying proposed method limited-resources/datasets countries, regional organizations institutions could have vital information reduce impact SLR larger-scale.
