摘要: This paper examines cross-border co-operation (CBC) and associated regions (CBRs) emerging within the European Union (EU). It analyses both as processes of institution building utilizing recent theories governance networks. The discussion is organized in four parts: (1) an overview CBC EU to date a suggested theoretical framework for understanding it; (2) specification institutions articulation horizontal vertical networks; (3) outline interests agendas main actors involved CBC, including Commission well local, regional central state authorities; (4) assessment outcome aggregate effects involved. concluding section locates polity, arguing that it represents example multi-level CBRs, although loosely articulated, are characterized terrains producing new transnational opportunities existing actors.
