摘要: Abstract Nigeria is faced with chronic electricity crisis that has resulted in the crippling of most sectors economy. It estimated only 40% Nigerians are connected to national grid and population exposed frequent power outages. Nigeria׳s mainly powered by large hydropower depleting hydrocarbon resources. Fossil-based generation contributes not increase carbon footprints, but also exposes country changes price petroleum resources political instability from oil producing region country. The blessed abundant Renewable Energy (RE) have been fully exploited; these renewable potentials change status quo consumption Availability Sources (RESs) all parts demonstrated several studies. However, there presently no comprehensive review RE development Nigeria. This contribution aims fill this gap focusing on current future prospects as well identifying key challenges confronting full scale We discussed existing government policies legislations, proposed others can help speed up adoption compared four other sub-Sahara African countries. hope paper will stimulate further research how address energy using RESs.
