摘要: Abstract Recent theoretical developments in the study of electronic structure and magnetic properties itinerant magnets are reviewed. The discussion falls naturally into two parts. first part deals with apparent success local spin density functional calculations predicting ground state such as moment or equilibrium atomic volume help no adjustable parameters. second conditions for existence localized moments disordered paramagnetic phase examines energetics different configurations within a parametrized tight-binding framework. relevance these results to current theories magnetism is stressed.
