摘要: Aquatic fungi contribute significantly to the decomposition of leaves in streams, a key ecosystem service. Little is known, however, about effects fungicides on aquatic and macroinvertebrates involved with leaf decomposition. Red maple (Acer rubrum) were conditioned stream acquire microbes (bacteria fungi) or leached tap water (unconditioned) simulate potential reduction microbial biomass by fungicides. Conditioned exposed fungicide formulations QUILT (azoxystrobin + propiconazole) PRISTINE (boscalid + pyraclostrobin) presence absence shredder, Hyalella azteca (amphipods; 7-d old at start exposures) for 14 d 23 °C. The (∼0.3 μg/L, 1.8 μg/L, 8 μg/L) tended increase amphipods (not significant) without concomitant amphipod biomass, indicating increased consumption reduced nutritional value. formulation (∼33 μg/L) growth (p < 0.05), similar those observed unconditioned controls. significant suppressive trend toward increasing concentration indicate altered decay streams Further work needed evaluate under conditions relevant ecosystems, including temperature shifts pulsed exposures pesticide mixtures.
