摘要: Background. The aim of this study was to examine the novel renal biomarkers neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) assist pediatricians in assessment longer duration inflammation acute (AKI) development during urinary tract infection (UTI). Methods. patients enrolled comprised 50 children (mean age 6 months) with UTI. NGAL serum urine (sNGAL uNGAL, resp.) KIM-1 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Results. uNGAL levels subjects higher (115.37 ng/mL) than shorter (67.87 ng/mL, ). Difference sNGAL not significant ( , resp.). Significant difference seen excretion among groups without AKI (). able discriminate between (area under curves (AUC) = 0.620, Conclusions. cannot be used for screening Accuracy UTI is low. We suggest larger studies check negative predictive value AKI.
