摘要: BACKGROUND Serum biomarkers may help to discriminate malignant from benign adnexal masses with equivocal features on imaging. Adequate discrimination of such tumors is crucial for referring patients either a specialized cancer center or nonspecialized gynecology service. AIM We aimed investigate whether the preoperative level serum C-reactive protein (CRP), alone combined CA125 and menopausal status in Ovarian Score (OVS), useful prediction malignancy women ovarian tumors. METHODS This cross-sectional study included 293 who underwent surgery tertiary center. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) areas under curves (AUC) CRP, OVS were calculated different scenarios, as well their sensitivity specificity, using standard cutoff points (for 10 mg/L; CA125, 35 U/mL). RESULTS performed significantly better than CRP differentiation disease epithelial (EOC) (AUC = 0.86 0.79 OVS, 0.73 CRP). superior only borderline advanced stages EOC non-EOC. Sensitivity specificity 52.5% 83%, respectively, 77.9% 66.7% 71.3% 67.8% OVS. CONCLUSIONS good cancer. The addition enhanced relatively low discriminatory power isolated CRP.
