摘要: Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus 6-5-S, an obligate bacterial parasite, was grown on cells of Spirillum serpens in 20 l medium. Maximum numbers the parasite were attained at 42–55 h, about 2–12 h after there no viable host remaining. Growth B. occurred only under aerobic conditions. The organism is rich catalase. Endogenous respiration and oxidation NADH by cell extracts inhibited cyanide azide but not carbon monoxide. Difference spectra indicate has a cytochrome system likely couples to phosphorylation, although efforts demonstrate fixation inorganic 32P into organic phosphate failed. Glutamine, glutamate, asparagine stimulate respiration, contain glutamate alanine dehydrogenases. 6-5-S also tricarboxylic acid cycle, as isocitric dehydrogenase, α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase system, succinyl-CoA synthetase, fumarase, malate found solubl...
