摘要: Aims To characterize dyadic mealtime verbal interactions and examine the associations with staff resident characteristics. Design A secondary analysis of 110 videotaped observations collected from a dementia communication trial during 2011-2014. Methods Videos involved 25 residents 29 in nine nursing homes. Verbal behaviours (utterances) were coded 2018-2019 using Cue Utilization Engagement Dementia video-coding scheme, addressing eight positive four negative behaviours. Bivariate analyses multivariate regression models used. Results Staff spoke three times more frequently (76.5%) than (23.5%). Nearly all utterances (99.2%); 85.1% residents' 14.9% negative. correlated their utterances.
