摘要: Aquaporins (AQPs) constitute an ancient and diverse protein family present in all living organisms, indicating a common ancestor. However, during evolution, these organisms appear evolve differently, leading to different cell organizations physiological processes. Amongst the eukaryotes, important distinction between plants animals is evident, most conspicuous difference being that are sessile facing ever-changing environmental conditions. In addition, mostly autotrophic, able synthesize carbohydrates molecules from carbon dioxide air process of photosynthesis, using sunlight as energy source. It therefore interesting analyze how, contexts specific both kingdoms life, AQP function regulation evolved. This review aims at highlighting similarities differences plant mammal AQPs. Emphasis given comparison isoform numbers, their substrate selectivity, subcellular localization, channel activity.
