摘要: This study examines The New York Times' definition of the end Cold War and its portrayal social movements that successfully challenged Communist authority in Eastern Europe. analysis is located within draws significance from two research traditions. first degree to which media texts have a polysemic character, while second tradition has explored influence ideology on American news media's international affairs. War, emerging post-Cold world, depiction collective action produced text characterized by limited polysemy. restricted polysemy was product newspaper employing frames resonated with political values, excluding or minimizing divorced mainstream beliefs, constructing selective past, limiting implications particular frames.
