Light limitation inducing overcompensatory growth of cyanobacteria and function of serine/threonine kinase (STK) genes involved

摘要: The rapid overcompensatory growth that appears when cyanobacteria are supplied with adequate resources after a period of resource deprivation might contribute to the occurrence cyanobacterial blooms. We investigated changing characteristics and serine/threonine kinase (STK) genes expression cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa in response light limitation. results showed M. exhibited for 2 days recovery, during which increase was inversely related intensity. Expression STK genes, such as spkD, upregulated significantly at 0.5-4 h recovery (P < 0.05). To investigate function growth, spkD heterologously expressed Synechocystis. Transgenic Synechocystis greater longer than wild-type recovery. Relative levels transgenic were higher those 24 Heterologous stimulate by affecting its gene expression.
