摘要: Dr Edwards' stimulating and provocative book advances the thesis that appropriate axiomatic basis for inductive inference is not of probability, with its addition axiom, but rather likelihood - concept introduced by Fisher as a measure relative support amongst different hypotheses. Starting from simplest considerations assuming no more than modest acquaintance probability theory, author sets out to reconstruct nothing less consistent theory statistical in science.
