The Nature of the Active-Site of Oxychlorination Catalysts (CuCl2/Al2O3) Through Experimental Studies

摘要: During the preparation of CuCl 2 /Al O 3 catalysts we observe that reacts with Y-Al elimination HCl; contents Cu 2+ and Cl - in prepared were quantified ratio to was determined be practically unity; XPS Auger studies show protons hydroxyl groups on surface alumina giving species Al -O-Cu-Cl. Furthermore, kinetic oxychlorination ethylene specific rates reaction are proportional number copper atoms (O-Cu-Cl) studied.
