15N studies on the transfer of legume-fixed nitrogen to associated cereals in intercropping systems

摘要: An attempt has been made to estimate quantitatively the amount of N fixed by legume and transferred cereal in association intercropping systems wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) — gram (Cicer arietinum maize (Zea mays —cowpea (Vigna unguiculate labelling soil fertilizer nitrogen with 15N. The intercropped legumes have found fix significantly higher amounts as compared sole cropping if cereal-legume received same dose crop. But when half applied crop was plants, cereals less than that legumes. Under field conditions 28% total uptake (21.2 kg ha−1) atmospheric origin obtained transfer cowpea grown maize. greenhouse summer monsoon season contribute 14%–20%, 16% 32% associated crops, respectively. Inoculation seeds Rhizobium increased both system.
