摘要: Topographic indices have been used extensively in the past to model wind-related phenomena such as soil erosion, snow redistribution, and atmospheric deposition of contaminants. A new index exposure/sheltering wind, channelling/deflection (CDI), is presented evaluated this chapter. Unlike existing windiness indices, most which are based on ray-tracing algorithms, CDI capable modelling channelling deflection flowlines, well wind shadowing. The a measure how much more or less windy location result influence upwind topography. method for calculating applies flow routing algorithm airflow patterns. Like all topographic involving analysis extended neighbourhoods, affected by edge contamination; digital elevation (DEM) edges can significantly pattern estimated an area. Analyses showed that effects be diminished using appropriately sized buffer data windward direction. 4 km was found sufficient accurately five study areas varying topography, DEM with 10 m grid resolution.
