摘要: Climate change has altered the timing of many ecological processes, especially in Arctic. The initiation nesting is a key signal phenological changes Arctic-nesting birds, and possibly connected to circumpolar trend earlier snowmelt. We collected data on lay dates 7 bird species, representing shorebirds, passerines, prey, seabirds, Herschel Island, Yukon, Canada, years 1984–1986 2007–2009. Snowmelt was significantly 2007–2009 period. Shorebirds passerines showed trends conjunction with snowmelt; other species did not. strength response date correlated general categories foods known be used by study species. However, six longer time interval between snowmelt egg-laying early compared late springs, suggesting need for further monitoring how robust their responses are future.
