摘要: A recurrent and consistent theme throughout this book is that an essential component of monitoring the repeated collection data over time. However, there has recently been some difference opinion in plant ecology literature about which techniques qualify as monitoring. While widespread agreement method giving most useful information census, (1987) recent review research projects also included inventories surveys techniques. Pavlik Barbour (1988) limit use term ‘monitoring’ to studies involving censuses, a view with I agree. In contribution, therefore, several other papers concerned (e.g. Davy Jefferies 1981; Williams Bradshaw White Bratton Hutchings 1989a, 1990), only collected from censuses are considered.
